-  Why Forgive?  


1. Because Christians need to live a life of obedience.
In Philippians 2:8 we see Jesus Christ being obedient to the will of Father God.

At times people hurt us; we become offended. We decide to walk away from them, and shut them out of our life. The enemy tells us to write them out of our life. But we must make a decision to walk in love towards others, even as God commands; to walk in peace; to not take offense, nor let a wound enter our spirit, and take root there. Obey God and let Him set you free.
Obey God and live at PEACE with others.
Forgive them quickly; pray for God, and leave them in His hands. Walk in POWER: the power of Love. Harboring offenses in your heart will cut off your JOY, your PEACE, your sense of FULFILLMENT, and being satisfied in God.
The LOVE walk will keep you walking in spiritual power.

2. Because forgiving others will enable God to BLESS your life.
Jesus instructs us in Mark 11:25 that when you come to God in prayer, you should not have anything in your heart against others: you must FORGIVE them. If you do not forgive others, your Heavenly Father would not forgive you either. If they offend you; forgive them.

The Greek word for offense' is 'scandalon' - which was a trap used in ancient times to ensnare or trap animals. That is what happens to you when you feel bitterness or negative feelings towards someone. So don't try to get even with those who hurt you. Do not pay them back - that is a snare of the enemy. Stay alert to the wiles and intentions of your enemy Satan. As a child of God, the Scriptures remind us that we are not ignorant of Satan's devices. Do not carry ill feelings in your heart towards others.

Let God help you keep your spirit strong, free and happy in Jesus Christ.
Trust God and put them in God's hands. Put the situation in God's hands. Put yourself in God's hands.

To have God hear and answer your PRAYERS, you must have a heart that is clear of feeling bitterness, wrath or anger toward anyone - Psalm 15:1-3. A clean heart will give you spiritual power. You will pray for people and God will answer you. Your worship will reach Heaven. God will BLESS you, heal you; keep you; and bring His Name honor and glory through you.

He will be always right there with you. In times of need, His blessed presence will bless you, provide for you; comfort you, and strengthen you always.
Jesus says, 'I am with you always - even to the end of the world. He will always be right there with you.
Love others, and keep the line between you and God clear, clean, and empty so that God can always reach you with His special blessings.

Yes, let there be nothing between you and your Heavenly Father. Nothing between!

Forgive that person who ill-spoke you; that driver who cut you off on the road; that spouse who walked out on you; that person who despises you; that former friend who betrayed you: let God handle your situations, and watch Him bless you.

"I am too blessed to be stressed!" This can be your testimony too. Forgive those who wrong you, and let your FAITH work.

Jesus commands you to walk in faith, love and power - and see yourself living a BLESSED and happy life.
